Hello everyone! My name is Iris Wilson, and I thought it'd be quickest to introduce myself over these interesting journals. Wouldn't it be faster if we could use typewriters instead of pens, though? Has anyone tested that?
Anyway, I trust you're familiar with Mr Naruhodo? Or Miss Mikotoba and Inspector Lestrade? They are some of my dearest friends and family, so I wanted to thank you all for being here to support them! Oh, and Mr Asogi and Mr Reaper, too!
In addition, I understand that Herlock Sholmes was here prior to me? Honestly, he's normally so difficult to wake, too. But I also wanted to say that I hope you had a lovely time with him and that,
[There's the briefest pause.]
well, I apologise if there was any trouble.
I believe that's all I have to say for now. We really must have tea sometime! I'll be staying with Runo if you'd like to find me.

Yes, that's something that needs serious consideration. I suppose it depends on how exactly these work in the first place. As for the paper, maybe there's a way to typewriter move on the page as opposed to its usual method that focuses on the paper moving?

[Still, they're mechanically interesting, he thinks.]
Maybe you'd just attach the stamping parts to some kind of plate that moves the way the paper normally does? But then the keys would have to move too, unless you had some other way to connect them to the stamps. [HMM.]
I'm guessing you met them through their trip to England, right? [Just from the name...]

That's right! They lived with me and my flatmate while they stayed in London.

[But ah, it's coming back to him now. It's been some time since that date with Susato... he wishes his memory wasn't so shoddy these days.]
That's right, she said Baker Street. Isn't it?
[He's sure she said more about her roommates there... but what was it...]

Yes! 221B to be exact. It's actually quite a famous address.

[............. wait.
Hm, um... maybe it's better to not mention that the residents of 221B Baker Street are fiction where he's from? Yeah... he'll stick with that thought for now...]
Now that you say that, it does sound kind of familiar. [If he's vague enough, maybe she'll provide enough information for him to play along?]
no subject
[No no, people think it's fiction because of all the stories and how unbelievable his skills of observation are, it's okay!]
Of course! It's where the great detective Herlock Sholmes lives! I've made sure people can read about his cases all around the world.

What do you mean by that, "made sure?"
[He just... wants to be clear here, what role she's... playing? Has? He doesn't remember enough about being ten to guess at whether she might be pretending or not.]

[If true. ... he doesn't necessarily think she's lying, just...? It's weird to think of an alternate universe where one of the differences is that a renowned Scottish author is a small girl instead. Or maybe it's one where it's her instead of the military doctor??]
So [he very nearly writes Holmes.] Sholmes lives with you? Does that make him your dad or guardian or something?

It sounds like you're lucky to have each other. I'm sorry he's not here with you.

[... he tries not to think very hard about if, somehow, he met his own parents here.]
It's good to meet you, though, Iris. I hope you can figure out the typewriter thing if you decide you don't want to write by hand.

It's very nice to meet you too, Ferry!

He half thinks of arguing that he's not a boat, but then he remembers Susato saying that this girl has apparently bequeathed the name Vicky to the queen of England. He never really had a chance, did he.
It's probably best if he just leaves it at that.]
