I am curious. How many among us have taken on a different form while in the dreamscape? Beyond the costumes we have been given to blend it.
I ask, as during the festival last month, I took part in the Storybook game, and upon entering the story, took on a different form.
Is there an intention to it? Or does it just happen? And if the former, how would one practice?

While I myself have only entered dreamscapes on a limited number of occasions, I'm given to believe that there is at least some intention behind how one appears whilst within them.
I shall spare you the details, but on my most recent excursion (likewise within one of the books present at the festival) the form I took was one which I would have found preferable, yet I exerted no physical effort in maintaining it. Perhaps, then, one's form is a reflection of one's dreams.

I didn't exactly have such intentions myself, but perhaps I need more practice.
[And there might be some concern if the form he took said something about his dreams.]

Based upon the story itself, I would imagine that my transformation would have been quite different, as the role I played was that of a noblewoman - something I decidedly am not. The dream accounted for a change in costume, but the form - as I appeared in my past - must have arisen from a stray thought.
If you wouldn't mind supplying some details about your own experiences, perhaps a conclusion can be made. How did you appear?

It's a bit embarrassing to admit, but I took on the form of a Unicorn. Several different ones for the different stories I participated in. While it's not completely out of the ordinary as the Unicorn is an emblem of mine, it caught me by surprise.
I hadn't really had a change in any other dreamscape.

Though, personally speaking, it could be worse. After all, there are far less glamorous creatures whose form you might have taken. My companion was somewhat recently turned into a swine, for example.
Would you then say that a monokeros proved out of place in the dreamscapes where you took on various guises of the name? Perhaps such a change was necessary (if unexpected) to attaining your goals within that space.

But I am curious! What did you turn into while you were inside this Storybook Game?

[There are no unicorns in Teyvat! But he might just think they're a little like the adeptus.]

I chose them for my union's emblem.

[No offense-]
It must be a very proud animal!

How did you manage it eventually?

I was unable to change myself back through force of will and most of the magic I'm familiar with is more combat based.

When I first awoke here, I thought it wise to enter one of the practice dreamscapes that the tapirs created to help us adjust to our new surroundings. The scenario was not what I was expecting; I found myself transfigured into a pumpkin and tasked to use dreamotion to return to my proper form. This being my first exercise with dreamotion, I found it exceptionally challenging. It was only with Satan's patience and assistance that I eventually succeeded.

It's more along the lines of having the ability to change form at will.

If there is a way to make it a useful ability, I'd like to figure that out.

I will admit, I haven't experimented with it too much, but I have found some practical applications.

What sort of form do you take?
no subject
A creature known as Carbuncle. Small, four legs, three tails, usually blue with a red gem on its forehead. I normally summon one as a familiar.
[ And she's none to happy to be taking its form when in the dreamscape. She likes being relatively tall, being cute isn't her style! ]

I assume it happens automatically? Have you tried to change your form while in the dream?
no subject
If I even knew changing it was an option, I would've changed it ages ago. I'd rather walk around on my own two legs instead of four.
