Subject: Dreamwalking and Dreamwalking forms

I am curious. How many among us have taken on a different form while in the dreamscape? Beyond the costumes we have been given to blend it.

I ask, as during the festival last month, I took part in the Storybook game, and upon entering the story, took on a different form.

Is there an intention to it? Or does it just happen? And if the former, how would one practice?

Your familiar enters the dream with you? But the dream doesn't seem to affect him regardless?

I wonder if that would be true of all familiars.

No, he doesn't arrive with me. I just take his form. I've been trying to figure out how to summon him while inside, but nothing's worked so far.

At first I had assumed that he would be affected by this, given how much I'm inheriting from him, but it's as though he's not involved at all. I had previously theorized that he and I had somehow merged upon entering the dreamscape, but it seems that isn't the case.

Interesting.

Even if it isn't a merger, it's not unreasonable to assume that your bond with him might be causing the change in form.

I admit that I don't know much about Carbuncles? Do they have some unique properties that might prevent them from showing up?

Hells if I know. He's just an ordinary aetherial construct; as far as I know there's nothing particularly unique about him other than the fact that I summon him as frequently as I do.

[ There might also be the fact that Merisia tends to channel some of her emotions into summoning him, but...well, she's not entirely aware of that. She's too logical about things for her own good, sometimes. ]

I suppose the only way to find answers would be to venture into the dreamscape a few more times and investigate things in person.

I suppose so. I'm starting to feel that the only way to figure things out here is to test them out.
